It is our very great pleasure to announce that Sir David Cooksey GBE (AHH, 1953-58) will be the speaker at this year’s Ashburnham Society 130th Anniversary Dinner on Thursday, 29th November 2012. Sir David was a founder of the European venture capital industry in 1981, and has chaired the British Venture Capital Association and the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association. Sir David has chaired and worked for organisations in the private, charitable and public sectors including the Francis Crick Institute, the UK Biotechnology Innovation and Growth Team, Diamond Light Source Ltd, the Bank of England, the Audit Commission, The Wellcome Trust, London and Continental Railways Ltd and UK Financial Investments Ltd. Sir David was knighted in 1993 and made a GBE in 2007 both for public service. A full biography is available to view here.
