Building on Excellence
A message from the Head Master-
Facilities at Westminster have increased substantially in the past few years, and we are now working to complete a comprehensive programme of development begun over a decade ago. In this new phase, the School will acquire both a new building for the Under School, containing a fantastic new Dining Hall and spectacular Art Department, as well as a new home for Purcell’s House, which will allow us greatly to improve our girls’ boarding facilities and create a new day house for both boys and girls. We will also be redeveloping Little Dean’s Yard, situated at the very heart of the School, to bring it up to a standard worthy of such a historic site.
Our crowning achievement, however, is the acquisition of a dedicated Sports Centre right next to Vincent Square, which will completely transform Westminster’s sporting provision. This will be to the advantage of competitive sport at the highest level, provide recreational exercise for all and, still more generally, enhance the all-round education we offer by focusing on pupils’ physical well-being as well as their intellectual development.
The impact of this programme of work will be immediate and substantial. In order to secure the funds necessary for its completion we have decided to launch a Capital Appeal, and I would like sincerely to encourage you to lend your support to whichever project, and at whatever level, you find most appealing.
We are immensely grateful for the on-going support of members of our extended Westminster Family, and hope that you will join us in working to secure the best possible future for generations of Westminster pupils to come.
