| Details | Following the success of the previous Media Networking Drinks, we are pleased to announce this year's event will be held at Kettner's. The event will start at 7.00pm. This event is an opportunity to bring together OWW who work in and around the media sector to meet old school friends and colleagues in the sector. We would very much like you to attend this special event, but only have limited capacity, so please secure your place early to avoid disappointment. |
| Speaker | Patrick Dickie (GG, 1982-87) is an opera and performing arts producer and consultant based in London. He was the Artistic Director of Portugal’s National opera Teatro Naçional São Carlos from 2015 to 2020, and from 1998 to 2014, in various roles, he produced and programmed new operas, opera productions and music theatre works at the Almeida Theatre, Aldeburgh Festival and English National Opera. He has produced the world premiere of operas by Harrison Birtwistle, Elena Langer and Richard Ayres and worked on their early opera productions with directors Yaron Lifschitz, Fiona Shaw, Simon McBurney and Benedict Andrews among many others. As an advisor, he has devised new opera programmes and established the sound and visual festival Sonica, Glasgow, and as programmer has worked in Lisbon, Norwich and across Europe. His interests lie in exploring opera’s future potential in radical theatre, technology and cinema and in nurturing conditions for risk taking and experiment. His current producing commitments include the performer Elaine Mitchener and producing the feature documentary Polyphony, a film about Renaissance Polyphony in the contemporary world. |
